The Catering Server supports the successful execution of catered events by providing professional, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service. This role requires flexibility, strong guest-service skills, teamwork, and the ability to work in fast-paced event environments while maintaining food safety and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and break down catering events, including tables, buffet lines, bars, décor, and service stations
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely, friendly, and professional manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas throughout the event
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Communicate effectively with culinary staff, bartenders, and event leadership
- Assist with replenishing buffet items, beverages, and supplies
- Handle guest requests and concerns with professionalism and a positive attitude
- Adhere to all company policies, client expectations, and venue guidelines
- Represent the company brand positively at all times
- Previous catering, banquet, or food service experience preferred (but not required)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Must be dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Texas Food Handler Certification
- TABC Certification required if serving alcohol
- Must comply with all local and state health and alcohol regulations
- Indoor and outdoor event settings
- Fast-paced, high-volume service environments
- Exposure to heat, cold, and varying weather conditions depending on event location
- Standing and walking for long periods
- Lifting, carrying, and pushing catering equipment
- Bending, reaching, and repetitive motions
