What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Management Intern position at CR Meyer?
The Project Management Intern contributes to the overall success of CR Meyer and its heavy industrial customers through providing general support to the Project Management team both in the field office and construction job site. Responsible for assisting the CR Meyer location in executing construction projects including overall budget and schedule updates, report generation and general project support.
- Assists with monitoring and quantity tracking for the construction Project Schedule.
- Completes required reports and paperwork in a timely manner using the appropriate CR Meyer software.
- Participates in the active implementation of the CR Meyer Risk Control Plan for all projects and is proactive and enthusiastic about safety every day.
- Assists with interpretation and clarification of the technical aspects of the installation and construction.
- Assists with construction material procurement and expediting.
- Supports cost control, cost tracking and resolution of project scope issues as necessary.
- Assists with subcontractor oversight from bid to award and monitoring performance.
- Assists with monitoring and controlling the overall project cost.
- Assists with addressing deviations from the plan and submitting change orders, as required for out-of-scope work.
- Assists with the construction QA/QC plan administration.
- Strives to learn each day by accepting coaching and mentoring to ensure a positive team atmosphere as needed for each step of the project.
- Seeks help from the Project Manager when the situation requires.
- Maintains a clean, neat and safe work area.
- Wears all assigned PPE and observes CR Meyer safety guidelines at all times.
- Due to customer service demands, regular and reliable attendance is required.
- Represents the CR Meyer brand in a positive, professional manner at all times.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management, with a long-term interest in a career in construction project management.
- Previous construction experience helpful.
- Ability to use a computer and learn new software programs required.
- Ability to complete all CR Meyer training and perform job duties within safety guidelines including, but not limited to, First/Aid-CPR Certification, OSHA 30 and SafeStart.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with CR Meyer’s Drug & Alcohol Policy and Program.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, insurable driving history and ability to operate a motor vehicle following all traffic laws and safe, courteous driving habits.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Travel may be required to various project sites within the United States.
