Fire Chief

• Bachelor’s degree level of study in fire science, public administration, a closely related field or equivalent work experience.
• At least ten (10) years of experience in fire and emergency medical service with progressive supervisory experience to include at least two years of upper-level public safety management in a paid position.
• Two years of relevant management or administrative experience.
• Must maintain or establish a residence within a 20-minute response time of the district’s headquarters within 6 months of employment. In district is preferred.

• Possession of, or ability to obtain within 30 days from hire, a valid Colorado Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record. The individual may not have any alcohol related driving offenses within 10 years of date of application.
• IFSAC accreditation or equivalent with a Fire Officer I or greater. Level II must be obtained within two years of date of hire.
• Possession of Fire Instructor I certification with Level II preferred (or two years of experience at Level I).
• National registered emergency medical technician or paramedic preferred but not required.
• NIMS IS 100, IS 200, IS 300, IS 400, IS 700, and IS 800.
• Chief Fire Officer (CFO), Executive Fire Officer (EFO), or Fire Officer designation (CPSE) in combination with a master’s degree in business management, public safety management, or public administration, is preferred.
• Special District Leadership Program graduate preferred, but must obtain within two years.
• Other certifications or licenses may be required for certain needs

Salary : $95,000 - $130,000
