Executive Summary

The General Manager will oversee all aspects of a location’s day-to-day operations; the individual will drive growth, performance metrics, create culture and develop all staff and management , constantly striving to be a world-class operator and helping others to do the same. In addition to full P&L ownership , the General Manager is responsible for capturing a major MSA through organic growth and potentially leading additional M&A activity.

Experience in the trades is not necessary; General Managers receive an intensive program with one of our most successful service businesses before they assume the senior leadership role.

Apex Service Partners has been founded through the acquisition of multiple leading home services businesses providing HVAC, plumbing and electrical services. This very fragmented industry is dominated by small and founder-owned businesses; these entrepreneurs in many cases have spent decades building companies that are respected essential services in their communities. Our strategy is to execute significant organic growth initiatives and high-frequency M&A.

This  decentralized roll-up strategy necessitates visionary, people-focused, financially savvy b usiness leaders who will aggressively grow their businesses both organically and inorganically through add-on acquisitions. The opportunity to bring best in class business practices is significant.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Increase key metrics including revenue, sales conversion percentage, average invoice, employee retention, customer satisfaction and maintenance subscription plans.
  • Deliver “ gold standard” of service and quality through training, accountability, and metrics.
  • Develop culture, systems, and measures to teach and train industry leading staff, increasing eNPS and retention at all levels.
  • Build a culture of purpose among the management team.
  • Making a difference for our people and the communities in which we do business, helping impact the middle class through expansion of outstanding employment opportunities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent
  • 3 years Management/Supervisory required, P&L experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with, or deep respect for the Skilled Trades and/or similar industries
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to apply critical thinking, risk analysis and develop solutions
  • A leader of character
  • A leader who inspires “followership” amongst the men and women they serve (manage)

Compensation

  • General Managers can expect to make a very competitive six figure base and annual bonus, with extremely strong upside given performance and our expansion.

Responsibilities

Financial:

  • Development and execution of strategy producing revenue
  • Impacts and increases key metrics including conversion percentage, average invoice, PM plans

Customer Satisfaction

  • Implement systems, training and accountability to be “gold standard” with service and quality
  • Impact and improve key metrics including NPS, reduction of callbacks. etc

Employee Development

  • Create culture and systems to teach, train and develop an industry leading staff
  • Increase and impact employee retention at all levels and eNPS
  • Impact and advise succession planning and career progression development programs
  • Continuously seek and apply feedback to build aworld class employment product

Leadership

  • Builds deep relationships with all level of employees, cross-departmentally
  • Becomes a positive, respected presence in the local community

Qualifications

  • 3 years Management/Supervisory experience required (Home Services, Sales Manager, Construction Management, or Military Leadership experience)
  • 3 years’ experience managing revenue, budgeting and/or P&L required
  • Leader in current field of work
  • Skilled Trades and/or Residential Services experience a plus
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to apply critical thinking, risk analysis and develop solutions

Salary & Benefits

  • General Managers typically earn $80,000 - $100,000 in their first year, with financial upside as the business grows
  • Base Salary Commissions
