Position Summary
The Psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment services within MCHC’s integrated behavioral health program. This role works collaboratively with primary care, psychotherapy, and care management teams to support patients with behavioral health needs, including co-occurring disorders.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
- Develop and manage treatment plans, including psychotropic medication prescribing and monitoring.
- Provide onsite acute psychiatric interventions when clinically appropriate.
- Ensure timely follow-up on abnormal findings and coordination of referrals.
- Collaborate with primary care, psychotherapy, and care management teams.
- Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and behavioral health department CQI activities.
- Maintain complete electronic psychiatric records and progress notes in eCW by the end of each clinical day.
- Apply 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality protections to SUD-related records as applicable.
- Fulfill mandatory reporting obligations under NYS Mental Hygiene Law Section 9.46 and NYS SSL Section 413.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet organizational standards of quality and care.
Qualifications
- MD or DO required.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency required.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry through ABPN required.
- Active and unrestricted New York State medical license required.
- Current DEA registration required.
- BLS certification preferred.
- FTCA coverage compliance required.
