GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Leads the design and development of equipment, systems, and existing system redesigns to
fulfill customer requirements. Technically skilled, detailed oriented, organized, having a
systematic approach in problem solving for both hardware and software.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Works within the Engineering department to ensure customer specification requirements
obtained during the quoting process can be translated into designs to meet customer
requirements.
· Deliver engineering data packages for designs, including service instructions, block
diagrams, cable drawings, assembly instructions, bills of material, part numbers and
product datasheets.
· Diagnose complex hardware and software problems and correct issues in high-
performance computing systems.
· Research new technologies and create prototypes for new computer hardware or
software applications.
· Apply technology roadmaps to tactical computing equipment to aid customers in defining
path forward.
· Acts as technical subject matter expert between the Engineering, Sales, and Operations
departments.
· Collaborate with the Sales departments during the quoting process to review products
meet customer specification requirements.
· Determine priorities based on workload, opportunity, and turnaround time.
· Respond to technical questions customers have regarding configurations and
configuration changes when applicable.
· Research replacements for end-of-life (EOL) and/or long lead time products to ensure
replacement components match form, fit, and function as required.
· Reviews and verifies project documents for completeness, format, and compliance
with company procedures and documentation requirements.
· Provide technical support for the Sales, Customer Service, Procurement
and Operations Departments as required.
· Identify new product opportunities, qualify, and champion development of our new
product offerings.
· Design and debug demonstration and/or evaluation hardware for new products. · Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Four (4) years of industrial computer manufacturing experience, including two (2)
years’ experience helping customers configure custom computer systems, preferred.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
· Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision
technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
· Knowledge of military testing standards and their application.
· Knowledge of IPC 610, IPC 620, and J-STD standards.
· Must be a U.S. citizen.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· Four (4) Year University Degree in computer engineering, system engineering, computer
science, or a related field.
· Work experience must be in the areas of computer hardware and computer software.
