Duties
- Provide attentive animal husbandry, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring animals’ health status throughout their stay
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary professionals following proper aseptic techniques
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and treatment areas to promote a hygienic environment for all animals
- Support veterinary technicians with laboratory tasks such as sample collection
- Handle animals with care during intake, discharge, or transfer procedures, demonstrating knowledge of animal physiology and behavior
- Must be able to lift, carry 30lbs
Qualifications
- Previous kennel experience or animal husbandry background preferred; passion for animal care is essential
- Experience in animal restraint techniques and pet handling to ensure safe interactions
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and client interaction
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Physically demanding position. Must be able to stand/walk for long periods
- Must not be fearful of any breed of dogs or cats as you will be handling multiple kinds daily.
- Saturdays 8-12 are mandatory
