We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Rust Repair / Treatment Technician to join our dynamic automotive restoration team. Duties
- Inspect vehicles thoroughly to identify rust damage and corrosion issues.
- Prepare surfaces meticulously through sanding, grinding, and masking to ensure optimal treatment adhesion.
- Apply rust treatment solutions, including primers, sealants, and protective coatings, using conventional spraying or airless paint equipment.
- Perform auto body repairs such as welding, patching, and panel replacement as needed.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to remove rusted sections and shape new panels or patches.
- Conduct auto painting, buffing, and detailing to achieve a flawless finish that meets quality standards.
- Operate heavy lifting equipment safely when handling large parts or vehicles during repair processes.
- Follow safety protocols diligently by using respiratory protection and other personal protective equipment during surface preparation and spraying tasks.
Skills
- Proven dealership or automotive repair experience with a focus on rust repair or auto restoration.
- Strong welding skills combined with mechanical knowledge for vehicle repairs.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, grinders, and surface preparation masking techniques.
- Knowledge of automotive body refinishing, auto painting, and auto glass replacement.
- Experience with auto estimating processes and customer service interactions.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs.
- Familiarity with auto maintenance procedures, including detailing and auto body refinishing techniques.
- Knowledge of respiratory protection standards and safe spray painting practices using conventional or airless spray equipment.
