CoWorx is seeking Inventory Control Specialists in the Haverhill, MA area!
The Inventory Controls Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory across multiple food manufacturing plants and warehouse locations while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
This role leads the cycle counting team, enforces inventory control standards, and works cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Production, Procurement, and Finance to improve inventory accuracy, traceability, and material flow in a regulated food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain accurate raw material, packaging, WIP, and finished goods inventory across multiple food manufacturing plants/warehouses, including 3PLs for all system functions from raw material receipt through Finished Good shipment.
- Lead, train, and manage a team of Cycle Counters and Inventory Control Associates, ensuring adherence to inventory control procedures and food safety standards.
- Develop and execute cycle count programs that support inventory accuracy, lot control, and traceability requirements.
- Develop, train staff and execute proper system receiving, product movement and shipping programs that ensure accurate and timely product movement throughout raw material/Finished Goods life cycle.
- Ensure proper lot tracking, FIFO/FEFO compliance, and expiration date management.
- Investigate inventory variances and discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Work with other departments (Quality, Warehouse, Operations, Procurement, Finance, etc.) to continue to make improvements.
- Support physical inventories, internal audits, and external audits (USDA, SQF, etc.) as required.
- Monitor and report inventory KPIs including accuracy, adjustments, waste/shrink, and obsolete/expired inventory.
- Maintain inventory data integrity with new ERP system
- Over sees all associates performing all system transactions in managing the receipt, put away, and shipping system processes associated with raw materials and finished goods inventory movements.
Desired Background/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of inventory control or materials management experience in a food manufacturing or regulated environment.
- Experience directing, training and developing teams.
- Experience driving change and accountability.
- Experience with ERP system (preferably Microsoft D365 F&O) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in manufacturing and warehouse environments.
- Ability to work In temperature-controlled areas (coolers, freezers, etc).
- Travel between plant/warehouse locations.
