Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control, and support the delivery of high-quality dental care across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontic treatments with precision and professionalism.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) ensuring patient safety and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Record detailed medical and dental histories, vital signs, and other relevant information using electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Maintain strict infection control protocols following aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
- Educate patients on oral health care, post-operative instructions, and preventive practices.
- Operate 3D scanners and other advanced imaging equipment to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage medical documentation accurately, including coding procedures for insurance purposes using medical coding standards.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures with specialized techniques suitable for children.
- Perform chairside assisting with a focus on four-handed dentistry to increase efficiency and patient comfort.
- Monitor vital signs before procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Maintain detailed records of medical imaging and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, for managing patient records efficiently.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, and other dental imaging technologies.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting in general dentistry as well as specialized fields like prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dental care and medical documentation standards.
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment supporting four-handed dentistry practices.
