Development Support Analyst

General Definition of Work

Performs difficult skilled technical work in the analysis and day-to-day management of Accela related systems to include support for Digital Plan Room, Laserfiche, associated integrations, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Development & Inspections Manager.

Essential Functions

Assists in the planning and implementation of Accela projects for the County.

Prepares requests for proposals, bid proposals and standard operating procedures for the County's Accela related technology.

Prepares reports as requested for the County.

Assist with configuration changes for Accela or associated integrations for the department

Responds to inquiries and complaints from external departments, agencies and vendors. 

Assists with department budget planning and preparation in conjunction with County policy. 

Prepares and maintains files and records for the department.

Provides support to Development Review Division 

Encourages and promotes a culture of excellent service.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of the zoning ordinance and related codes; thorough knowledge of the methods and procedures used in code enforcement; general knowledge of the principles and practices of planning; general knowledge of current literature and recent developments in the field of planning; general knowledge of manual and digital cartographic techniques and standards and traditional map production processes; ability to comprehend technical specifications for manual, computer-aided/automated cartographic products; ability to make arithmetic computations for rates, ratios and percentages; ability to apply geometry and trigonometry basics to find distances, angles, direction and degrees; ability to analyze and systematically compile technical and statistical information and to prepare technical reports; ability to interpret various rules and regulations; ability to prepare and present technical information clearly; ability to read and interpret plans; ability to contact property owners, contractors and the public and effect satisfactory working relationships; firmness and tact in enforcing zoning, sign and related ordinances and codes; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, representatives of other public agencies, the development community and the general public. Thorough knowledge of standard engineering practices for stormwater management, site design, roadway design, and environmental protection requirements. 

Education and Experience

Associates/Technical degree in information technology, computer science, or equivalent combination of education and experience in server administration, application/systems administration, helpdesk or desktop technical support.

Physical Requirements

This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing, frequently requires standing, walking and sitting and occasionally requires using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, lifting and repetitive motions; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).

Special Requirements

Favorable background history as determined by review of local, State and Federal records.

Valid driver’s license in the State of Georgia with a favorable driving history (MVR).
