Duties
- Provide daily care for dogs including feeding, watering, exercise, and administering medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through regular sanitization and waste disposal
- Handle dogs safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their well-being and staff safety
- Assist with pet boarding, pet sitting, and outdoor activities to promote healthy behavior and comfort
- Monitor dog behavior for signs of stress or illness and report observations promptly
- Perform general cleaning duties including grooming stations, equipment, and facility sanitization to uphold hygiene standards
Qualifications
- Prior veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience is highly desirable
- Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or animal care roles is a plus
- Strong dog handling skills with knowledge of animal restraint techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting when moving dogs or supplies safely
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and visitors
- Outdoor work experience preferred for handling pets during outdoor activities or walks
- Knowledge of pet grooming, pet boarding procedures, and dog behavior principles is advantageous
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment through diligent sanitization practices
