As Construction Estimator you will be responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates, analyzing bid proposals, and collaborating closely with project managers, owners, and subcontractors. Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive construction estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and scope of work using industry-standard tools such as Bluebeam, Heavy Bid and Excel.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analyses to determine accurate pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and provide strategic input on cost control measures.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Prepare bid proposals, budgets, and risk assessments that align with project goals and company policies.
- Monitor ongoing projects for budget adherence, identify potential cost overruns, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain organized records of all estimating activities, contracts, change orders, and related documentation to ensure transparency and accountability.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management processes.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Heavy Bid; familiarity with Bluebeam is highly desirable.
- Solid knowledge of construction site operations, contracts, pricing strategies, and cost control techniques.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and subcontractors.
- Hands-on experience in construction site environments or project management roles is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
