Buyer position | Reports to the Supply Chain Manager
Location: Okmulgee, OK (20 minutes from South Tulsa straight down Highway 75)
Schedule: Fulltime Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Summary
The Buyer strategically sources and procures aircraft parts, materials, tooling, and consumables to support maintenance and operational requirements. This role drives material availability, supplier performance, cost effectiveness, and supply-chain continuity while proactively managing risk, supplier recovery, and changing priorities with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead procurement activities for assigned aircraft parts, components, materials, tooling, and consumables with a high level of ownership and responsiveness.
• Analyze demand, inventory, forecasts, lead times, supplier commitments, and market conditions to anticipate requirements and mitigate supply risk before it impacts operations.
• Manage the procurement lifecycle including RFQs, sourcing, negotiations, purchase orders, supplier commitments, expediting, and resolution of supply issues.
• Prioritize and aggressively expedite critical, shortage, and AOG-related material requirements to protect aircraft and operational schedules.
• Drive immediate recovery strategies for supplier delays, shortages, and performance issues, maintaining pressure and follow-through until resolution.
• Develop alternate sourcing strategies and identify interchangeable or superseded part solutions to strengthen supply-chain continuity.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, delivery commitments, quantities, payment terms, and commercial conditions to achieve business objectives.
• Maintain accurate procurement data and provide timely visibility of material status, shortages, risks, recovery actions, and supplier commitments.
• Partner cross-functionally with suppliers and all internal departments to rapidly resolve constraints and support changing business priorities.
• Escalate critical supply risks early, clearly communicating impact, recovery actions, ownership, and expected resolution.
Qualifications
• 3–5 years of progressive experience in a Buyer role, preferably within aviation, aerospace, MRO, or a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience in supplier management, strategic sourcing, negotiation, procurement, expediting, shortage recovery, inventory planning, and materials management.
• Demonstrated ability to operate with a strong sense of urgency, effectively prioritizing critical requirements and responding rapidly to changing operational demands.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to translate supply-chain data into effective business decisions.
• Advanced planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
• Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and make sound business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail, urgency, accuracy, accountability, ownership, and follow-through are essential.
Performance Expectations
The Buyer is expected to anticipate risk, act with urgency, take ownership, and drive material and supplier issues through resolution to protect maintenance schedules, customer commitments, and operational performance.
Export Control Requirements: This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident.
Pay and Compensation
• Final rate based on experience and qualifications.
