Mobile Response Technician (MRT)
MRT & Hangar Technician | Reports to the Hangar Supervisor
Location: Okmulgee, OK (20 minutes from South Tulsa straight down Highway 75)
Schedule: Fulltime Monday-Thursday 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM unless on Trip
Position Summary
Covington Aircraft is expanding our mobile response team and looking for a skilled A&P technician who shares our values and commitment to excellence. This position is ideal for a highly motivated technician who can work independently, troubleshoot complex maintenance discrepancies, and provide exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, servicing, component replacements, operational checks, and scheduled maintenance.
• Work independently in mobile, field-based, and time-sensitive environments.
• Complete maintenance records in accordance with FAA regulations, approved technical data, and company procedures.
• Coordinate parts sourcing and logistics.
• Communicate professionally with customers, aircraft owners, and maintenance teams.
• Dispatch from shop or residence using a company service vehicle.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked company service vehicle.
• Maintain accountability for company tools and equipment.
• Respond promptly to dispatched assignments.
• Participate in scheduled after-hours and weekend assignments as required.
• Represent Covington Aircraft with professionalism, integrity, and exceptional customer service.
Required Qualifications
• Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate required.
• Minimum 4 years of recent hands-on maintenance experience on turboprop or light/medium jet aircraft (Part 145 is a plus).
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities.
• Strong working knowledge of FAA regulations, maintenance manuals, and service bulletins, with the ability to interpret maintenance manuals and approved technical data.
• Strong customer service and professional communication skills.
• Availability for after-hours and weekend AOG assignments.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, and passport (or ability to obtain one).
• Physical ability to work in all weather conditions, climb ladders, and lift 50 lbs. regularly.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening, and random drug and alcohol screening, and background check.
Preferred
• Inspection Authorization, “IA”.
• Airframe experience is a plus.
Export Control Requirements: This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident.
Pay and Compensation
• Final rate based on experience, aircraft qualifications, factory training, and troubleshooting capabilities.
