ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- The facility maintenance team is tasked with cleanliness, upkeep, maintenance, and repair of physical structure and assigned equipment.
- Actively engaged in problem solving, work with assigned team to continuously improve production processes and achieve daily production goals.
- Actively participates in Lean activities and events, when requested
Level 1 – Maintenance Technician 1
- Maintenance Technician 1
- Maintenance tech work will be performed with guidance and instruction, performance and documentation of preventive maintenance and repairs on the physical structure, machines and equipment. These repairs and maintenance activities includes electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, office furniture, building structure, and factory fixtures; occasionally may handle various cleaning chemicals, lubricants and pest control devices; lock-up and securing of buildings; training of new department personnel; assemble machines and equipment; record downtime for machines and equipment; basic knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs); involved in special projects as assigned
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be able to work overtime or altered hours and weekend as needed.
- May be involved in special projects assigned to the department.
- Actively engaged in problem solving, work with assigned team to continuously improve production processes and achieve daily production goals.
- Actively participates in Lean activities and events, when requested
AUTHORITY:
All personnel are responsible for quality and therefore have the authority to stop production, if necessary to correct quality problems.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Knowledge in the proper use of power equipment and basic maintenance tools.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, Lubricants, pest controls, and the proper use of cleaning tools including, but not limited to brooms, mops, floor scrapers and floor buffing equipment.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Must be able to read and understand labels.
- Must be able to pass the Forklift training requirements and be forklift certified.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical wiring.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints or schematic drawings.
- Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, Outlook/email, PowerPoint) to communicate data &/or problems/recommended solutions
- Prior involvement in continuous improvement efforts where MT has partnered with production
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma is preferred, but not required.
- Computer literate.
PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Custodial/Housekeeping should have experience in an industrial janitorial, housekeeping or building maintenance related job.
- Maintenance Tech 1 should have 1-2 years of experience in an industrial, electrical, HVAC, plumbing environment.
- Maintenance Tech 2 should have 1-3 years of experience in an industrial facilities environment.
- Maintenance Tech 3 -should have 4-6 years of experience in an industrial facilities environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Must have a full range of motion, including but not limited to, standing, bending, walking, twisting, kneeling, grasping, reaching and climbing as necessary to complete the job assigned.
Must be able to work in high noise levels.
Salary : $16 - $19
