Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash register operations and cash drawer handling.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries.
- Conduct product demos when needed to highlight features and benefits of store merchandise, encouraging upselling opportunities.
- Manage cash handling procedures with precision, ensuring correct change is given and transactions are balanced at shift end.
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the store’s appearance is inviting and well-organized.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or taking orders.
- Support inventory management through stocking products and participating in regular stock checks to ensure product availability.
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery or specialty retail environments.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is highly desirable.
- Supervising experience in a retail setting is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team coordination and customer service excellence.
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, to effectively serve diverse customer needs.
- Knowledge of retail math for accurate cash handling, sales calculations, and inventory management.
- Experience with merchandising techniques and product demos to engage customers and promote sales initiatives.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude in a busy store environment.
