Covenant Village, the premier Life Plan Retirement Community is seeking a temporary full-time Maintenance Worke. This position will plan, organize, and carry out Maintenance duties.
Responsibilities include:
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains mechanical equipment, buildings, and machines.
- Performs tasks such as plumbing, painting, flooring repairs and upkeep, HVAC repairs and maintenance, and electrical services. This list is not all inclusive.
- Monitors contractor work.
- Maintains and keeps all equipment in good running condition.
- Participates on the On-Call list.
- Maintains a safe working environment. Inspects areas for any hazards. Reports to management any safety concerns.
- Works closely with all departments for all their maintenance, set up and equipment needs.
- Assists with the moving of Resident furniture and personal items when an internal move is necessary.
- Changes light bulbs, cleans and replaces filters, hangs pictures, televisions and window treatments.
- Attends all mandatory In-Service trainings and meetings.
- Keeps all licenses up to date that pertain to the job.
- Adheres to all Covenant Village policies and procedures as well as works in line with the CV CARES Core Values and Mission Statement.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
A high school diploma/GED is required. Technical training or license in the areas of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC or other related fields is a plus. At least 2 years’ work experience is preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record. Must be able to communicate clearly, politely, and professionally with Residents, staff, and guests. Able to read normal print (with or without corrective lenses). Must have a good sense of smell to be able to detect various hazards such as smoke, chemicals, or gas. Be physically fit as the job involves a lot of manual labor work. Must be agile, efficient, and able to balance, climb, crouch, pull, push, reach, stand for long periods of time, stoop, lift 75 pounds, perform repetitive movements, and climb/maneuver a ladder. Able to follow instructions, give attention to detail, meet deadlines, and work well with others. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
