Job Title - Histotechnician

Location - Shelton, CT (Onsite)

Shifts:

2nd Shift: Tuesday – Saturday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

3rd Shift: Tuesday – Saturday, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Role Type - Direct Hire

Must Have Skills:

• Associate’s degree in Histology OR Associate’s degree in a Chemical/Biological Science with 1 year of relevant experience OR completion of a Histology program (minimum 9 months)
• Familiarity with routine histology procedures and laboratory equipment
• Ability to accurately section, embed, and stain tissue specimens
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a high-volume lab environment
• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

Responsibilities and Job Details:

• Perform sectioning, embedding, staining, and immunohistochemical testing of tissue specimens
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments in accordance with established procedures
• Adhere to strict quality control protocols and maintain accurate documentation
• Ensure accurate and high-quality slide production of surgical specimens
• Follow laboratory safety protocols and regulatory standards
• Contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative laboratory environment
• Participate in shift work based on lab scheduling needs (2nd or 3rd shift)
• Maintain proper recordkeeping for equipment maintenance and QC data
• Review and verify specimen accuracy throughout the histology workflow
• Handle high-volume sample throughput while maintaining precision
• Communicate effectively with team members to support continuous improvement
• Eligible candidates may receive a $7,500 sign-on bonus (external candidates only)
