Responsibilities
Prepare net revenue/net accounts receivable estimates for monthly for financial statements.
Prepare and file Medicare and Medicaid cost reports (CMS-2552-10 and others) in a timely and accurate manner. Analyze cost report data to identify reimbursement opportunities and risks. Maintain documentation supporting cost report entries and allocations.
Assist in preparing audit work papers and respond to inquiries from fiscal intermediaries and auditors.
Monitor changes in healthcare reimbursement regulations and model the financial impact of those changes.
Support interim rate reviews, appeals, settlement processes, and third-party cash reconciliations.
Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., accounting, patient financial services, compliance) to gather and verify cost report data.
Assist in the development of reimbursement models and financial projections related to hospital services.
Conduct variance analysis related to third-party settlements and payments.
Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with all CMS and state agency guidelines.
Assist with revenue cycle analysis.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor�s degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field (required).
Two (2) - five (5) years of experience in hospital reimbursement, cost reporting, or healthcare finance (Preferred).
Experience with Medicare and Medicaid cost reports (CMS 2552-10) and healthcare reimbursement principles.
Knowledge of healthcare accounting, cost allocation methodologies, and CMS regulations.
Familiarity with software such as HFS, IRIS, or similar cost reporting tools is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Kodiak RCA and Qlik reporting tools is a plus.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
