What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR SAGINAW COUNTY LIAISON position at Covenant HealthCare?
The Covenant HealthCare Saginaw County Liaison & Administrative Specialist is a dual role that will function to serve both SISD and additional administrative needs. As the SISD Liaison, this role will recruit/prepare Saginaw County students enrolled at the Saginaw Career Complex (SCC) for professions within the healthcare industry, creating a talent pipeline to critical shortage areas within this pathway. This person would market the opportunity to county students, help connect students to the program through SCC, provide career data and labor market projections to parents and schools, work with hospital staff on setting up a learning environment that is meaningful to both entities, establish positive collaborative relationships with hospital staff, develop and support mentorship/internship/apprenticeship opportunities for students in the program that potentially will lead to employment. As the role of Covenant Health Care Administrative Specialist, this person will work to improve and maintain processes of operation including clerical functions, maintaining records, and computer systems support. Responsibilities

Develop work-based learning opportunities to include internships and mentorships, for Saginaw County students enrolled at the SCC.
In collaboration with the lead instructor from SISD, develop business and industry on-site classroom opportunities for students.
Prepare students for job readiness through the oversight of employability skills training, to include student employment portfolios and assist in the development of guest speakers for programs.
Takes an active role in program advisory committees and serve as the liaison between Covenant HealthCare and the SCC.
Maintain a current working knowledge of state and federal regulations that pertain to work-based learning services.
Maintain active membership in professional organizations related to work-based learning.
Stay current with healthcare trends/needs and coordinate training for students, as appropriate.
Pre-screen candidates for part time/full time employment for students and graduates.
Maintain/update student/employer files.
Assist with coordination of site visits to the hospital for students.
Work as part of a team to be the bridge between Covenant HealthCare and the SCC
Speak at High School informational sessions to promote SCC and the Medical Academy
Attend SCC student workshops for resume building and interview skills
Facilitate Covenant in-house and external events
Eg. MI Career Quest, ISD Exploratory Programs, High School Tours
Attend job fairs high school and college
Facilitate additional events, career and hiring events for high school students
Coordinate Hospital Week/Nurses gift distribution
Oversee Service Award gifts and distribution
Oversee departmental recognition budgets & support planning of events as needed
Help coordinate Discover Covenant Summer Program
Supports scheduling and preparation for various workshops and orientations throughout the human resources department.
Creates rosters and manages attendance and bookkeeping for courses registered via the electronic learning management system, or online, ensuring appropriate instructors are assigned.
Assists with ordering departmental supplies and equipment as well as food/snacks for designated classes.
Creates and updates Core Orientation schedules with Human Resources and Central Education
Issues CE certificates for on-line/virtual programs
Assists with registration, bookkeeping, materials management, and necessary payments for ACLS/PALS/BLS courses and maintains current databases of individuals attending these courses.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Human Resources, Education or related field required.
Clinical or Healthcare Environment experience preferred.
Teaching experience or experience working with high school population preferred.
