Covenant Christian Academy is seeking a qualified secondary school professional in the discipline of Science. The candidate for this position should hold a Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) in Chemistry or a related field. The candidate must have classroom experience and be able to demonstrate the ability to convey complicated scientific processes to high school students. This position is for a full-time teacher load to include honors level Chemistry classes. Candidates should also indicate any degrees and/or teaching experience in the fields of mathematics, physics, computer science or robotics.
An Upper School faculty position at Covenant includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Plan and teach Chemistry with a lab component, plan and teach other math or science as neede
- Collaborate with other science and math teachers to strengthen the core sciences at CCA and contribute to curricular review processes examining course sequencing, text selection and lab materials.
- Attend weekly Upper School faculty meetings.
- Perform weekly duties expected of all full-time faculty and also serve as an Advisor for a small group of students
- Attend a limited number of specified school events as representative of the CCA Upper School faculty, including Back to School Night, Discover Covenant, Admissions Events and others.
- Be available individually for tutoring and/or coaching in the area of basic mathematics and course-related content
- Sponsor one school club or organization
The candidate must be willing to sign CCAs Statement of Faith and Core Values and must maintain the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum, serving as a Christian role model and mentor both in and out of school, to students, parents, fellow faculty members and employees in judgment, dignity, respect, and Christian living.
The Upper School Science Faculty position is a full-time position with benefits. Supplemental income from after-school programs and/or individual tutoring may be available.
Contract runs: late-August 2026 through June 2027; teaching is on a 10 month cycle.
This is a 10-month position with opportunities to earn additional income through summer programming and after-school programs and/or individual tutoring during the school year.
Compensation: $48,000$63,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Most candidates can expect to fall within the $48,000$55,000 range based on experience and qualifications, with the upper end reserved for candidates with significant prior experience and/or advanced credentials.
