We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper to join our finance team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting our accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help us uphold transparency and accountability as we serve our community’s needs.

Duties

  • Checks invoices for mathematical accuracy/valid expense, assigns proper departmental coding and enters invoices into the accounting system on a weekly basis.
  • Monitors A/P check off list to ensure all monthly bills have been received and paid in a timely manner.
  • Monitors cash receipts and reconcile direct fees to EHR system on a weekly basis.
  • Weekly tracks and monitors due dates of invoices to ensure late fees are not charged.
  • Prepare Journal Vouchers for month end closing and as needed.
  • Prepares Bank Reconciliation monthly (immediately after month end closing).
  • Maintains accuracy of Benefit related spreadsheets (Employee allocations, etc.) monthly.
  • Process monthly contract billing by the 10th working day of the following month.
  • Assists in compiling information requested for annual audit.
  • Forster a collaborative and respectful conduct and interact with all co-workers including but not limited to department co-workers with diplomacy, courtesy, and empathy even during challenging situations.
  • Communicate effectively and with transparency. Ensure open and clear communication by actively listening to others’ ideas and perspective and sharing information honestly.
  • Resolve conflicts constructively. Handle disagreements and differing opinions with a calm, solution-oriented approach, focusing on the problem rather than on personal issues.
  • Support and assist colleagues. Proactively offer help to co-workers when their workload is high or when problems arise, demonstrating “we’re in this together” attitude.

General Expectations:

  • Create/Maintain spreadsheets as needed.
  • File invoices, remittances, and reports in a timely manner and in their proper place.
  • Use tools provided by the finance department to maximize job performance.
  • Act as a backup for accounting staff when necessary.
  • Attend training/meetings as directed.
  • Adhere to Agency policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual
  • Undertakes related duties and tasks assigned by supervisor, CFO or CEO.

Pay: $23.62 - $25.82 per hour
