Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure consistency between bank statements and internal records.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
- Prepare journal entries for various financial transactions, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Reconcile account balances through detailed analysis of the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, including balance sheet reconciliation and financial report writing.
- Support payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements as needed.
- Conduct double-entry bookkeeping to ensure accuracy in debits & credits across all accounts.
- Collaborate with auditors during financial audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of account activity.
- Contribute to budgeting processes by analyzing expenses and assisting in financial planning efforts.
Requirements
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; familiarity with Quicken is a plus.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including GAAP standards and governmental accounting practices.
- Demonstrated ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and general ledger accounting accurately.
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices is desirable but not mandatory.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, payroll processing, and tax preparation.
- Familiarity with technical accounting concepts such as journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial concepts related to debits & credits.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10-key typing for data entry tasks.
- Ability to interpret financial reports and write clear financial summaries for internal use.
