A family owned business we are searching for hands that know their way around engines and boats and is willing to learn in order to grow with the company
Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on marine engines, propulsion systems, and electrical systems using schematics and technical drawings.
- Conduct routine maintenance including lubrication, fluid changes, and system adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using multimeters, ohmmeters, and other precision measuring instruments; interpret wiring diagrams and schematics for accurate repairs
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other precision instruments to assemble, disassemble, and repair mechanical systems with high accuracy.
- Maintain ship electrical systems by diagnosing faults, replacing faulty wiring or components, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Support rigging operations and perform heavy lifting safely using appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in mechanical systems repair and troubleshooting engineering issues.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals accurately.
- Electrical experience including marine electrical systems troubleshooting and diagnostics using specialized tools like ohmmeters.
- Experience with maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) practices specific to water transportation equipment.
- Familiarity with marine propulsion systems maintenance and assembly processes; experience with power tools is essential.
- customer service skills (not heavily needed) combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
