Duties
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently to process sales, returns, and exchanges with accuracy and speed
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide product information or demos to enhance their shopping experience
- Handle cash, credit, and mobile payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling and balancing registers at shift end
- Assist with merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing displays, and maintaining store cleanliness to promote an inviting environment
- Upsell products by suggesting complementary items and informing customers about ongoing promotions or new arrivals
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when taking orders or answering inquiries from customers or vendors
- Support supervising staff during busy periods by helping with product demos, inventory checks, or customer assistance as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering preferred; familiarity with POS systems is a plus
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities to assist in team coordination when necessary
- Knowledge of grocery store operations including stocking, merchandising, and basic retail math for transactions
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and patience in handling difficult situations
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and sales calculations
- Professional phone etiquette and clear communication skills to engage effectively with customers and team members
