Job Summary: The Houseman is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the hotel’s public areas, assisting housekeeping staff, and ensuring that all guest needs are met efficiently. This role is vital in providing a welcoming and clean environment for guests while supporting housekeeping and maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness in public areas, including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, and restrooms.
- Assist housekeeping staff by delivering linens, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities.
- Respond promptly to guest requests for additional services, such as extra towels or pillows.
- Ensure hotel common areas are tidy and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist with room setup, including moving furniture and arranging meeting spaces as needed.
- Collect and dispose of trash and recycling materials in designated areas.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
- Assist in deep-cleaning projects as scheduled by the housekeeping supervisor.
- Provide courteous and professional assistance to guests and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial work, or a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
