General Description
The Food Service Worker supports daily operations in the school district kitchens and cafeterias. This role includes assisting with meal service, food preparation, cleaning, and supporting a positive environment for students. Responsibilities primarily include serving meals, dishwashing, basic food preparation, and maintaining clean and organized kitchen and cafeteria spaces.
Essential Job Functions
- Support meal service for students at the elementary, middle, and/or high school level.
- Complete basic food preparation tasks.
- Perform dishwashing and kitchen cleaning duties.
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining cafeteria and kitchen areas.
- Support supervision of students in the cafeteria as needed.
- Maintain professional and appropriate dress for a school setting.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: - High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Valid Food Handler permit.
- Above average record of attendance, punctuality and reliability at work.
- Ability to listen and react professionally.
- Ability to remain flexible to changes in assignments or situations.
- Ability to follow and give instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students and community.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
Working Conditions:- Schedule and hours per day will be determined by the Food Service Director, building principal and District/student needs.
- Initial assignments may be subject to change due to needs of students, enrollment of students and needs of the district
- Salary and benefits are granted per the Coupeville Educational Support Association Collective Bargaining Agreement.
