SCVMC was ranked by U.S. News and World Report as #6 Rehabilitation Hospital in the nation and #1 in the West and designated as a 2024 High Performing hospital for Maternity Care, Heart Failure, Stroke, Hip Fracture, and Pneumonia.
O'Connor Hospital - O'Connor Hospital (OCH) is a 358 licensed bed acute care facility offering a full range of inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical and specialty programs to residents of Santa Clara County. It was founded in 1889 as one of the first hospitals in the county. OCH has grown significantly over the past five years in both its inpatient volume and its Emergency Department visits. Along with these volume increases other ancillary and clinical departments like imaging, lab, pharmacy, and respiratory have seen growth as well.
St. Louise Regional Hospital- Since 1989, St. Louise Regional Hospital (SLRH) has been caring for the residents in Santa Clara and San Benito Counties, offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient medical specialties. SLRH has 93 beds, is a Designated Primary Stroke Center, and is the only acute care hospital in the area. Located in Gilroy, SLRH maintains a CALSTAR 2 emergency helicopter base on the premises.
Regional Medical Center– Regional Medical Center (RMC) is a 258-bed hospital that is the main emergency healthcare provider for East San José, treating a wide range of critical and life-threatening conditions for more than 60 years. Since the SCVH integration of RMC effective 4/1/25, RMC has expanded the critical services including Level II trauma, Thrombectomy capable Stroke Center and STEMI care, and has been seeing an increased number of emergency visits and inpatient volume.

- Installs and repairs telecommunications equipment such as PBX equipment, VoIP equipment, voice mail systems, uninterrupted power supplies, telephone handsets, network cabling, paging/public address, intercom, T1 circuits, optical fiber and other related equipment;
- Prepares and programs customer database using computerized equipment;
- Performs preventive maintenance on PBX, voice communications and other related equipment;
- Troubleshoots digital and analog switching equipment malfunctions and takes necessary action to restore system;
- Isolates defects in telecommunications equipment; repairs or replaces parts and tests repairs using specialized test equipment;
- Modifies or configures adds, moves and changes of telecommunications equipment;
- Assists in ensuring that telecommunication equipment installations and repairs are completed on time, within budget and meet stated objectives;
- Prepares reports of work completed;
- Consults with manufacturer engineers to troubleshoot technical problems, as necessary;
- Attends training to keep apprised of current technology;
- May provide assistance and technical guidance to Associate Telecommunications Technicians;
- Performs related work as required.
Experience Note: The knowledge and abilities required to perform this function are normally acquired through training and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and three (3) years experience in installing, maintaining or repairing telephone, sound, paging and other inter-communications systems or one (1) year experience equivalent to an Associate Telecommunications Technician with the County of Santa Clara.
Possession of a valid California driver's license prior to appointment;
Knowledge of:
- Basic telecommunications principles, practices, terminology, trends and usage;
- Voice communication hardware and software such as found in PBX equipment, automatic call distributions systems, interactive voice response systems and computer integrated voice systems;
- Tools, equipment, practices and methods of installing, enhancing and repairing telecommunications equipment, including equipment test and evaluation;
- Transmission mediums, such as twisted pair wiring, fiber optics;
- Electronic mathematics;
- Safety procedures such as handling electrical energy devices.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and identify alternative technical solutions;
- Read and interpret schematic diagrams, blueprints and service tools;
- Use a variety of hand tools to perform skilled shop work in the installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications equipment;
- Communicate clearly both in oral and written form;
- Keep accurate records and write reports;
- Maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to maintain good physical condition appropriate to the assigned duties which may include walking, standing, sitting, or lifting for extended periods of time;
- Willingness to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays and at odd or irregular hours.
Salary : $104,012 - $125,848
