About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR professional to lead our Human Resources unit and support the vital work of our agency. This key role will manage day-to-day HR operations, oversee all departmental Workers’ Compensation cases, and administer employee leaves and modified duty assignments. You will also guide recruitment efforts, oversee the Background Investigation unit, support benefits administration, and ensure our HR office runs smoothly and efficiently. Under direction, assumes responsibility for the administrative operations, including financial and budgetary, human resources, information systems, and other activities of a designated department or division; organizes and manages office and business activities to ensure effective and efficient operations; supervises, trains, and evaluates the performance of assigned professional, paraprofessional, technical, or clerical staff.

This recruitment may be used to fill future permanent, substitute, limited term, and temporary positions, both full-time and part-time throughout the County.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Required

A combination of education, training, and experience resulting in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of qualifying education and experience includes:

Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, accounting, or a closely related field. In addition, two years as an Administrative Officer or other progressively responsible professional-level experience in finance or accounting, human resources, or other administrative functions, including two years in a lead or supervisory capacity.

Licenses and Certificates

A valid California driver’s license will be required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.
