The San Diego County Probation Department is currently recruiting for a Senior Data and Research Analyst to join its Business Intelligence (BI) Unit—a small, specialized team dedicated to transforming data into meaningful insights that support departmental operations and strategic decision-making. Senior Data anreased Research Analysts play a critical role in producing dynamic, recurring dashboards and reports--weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually--using Excel and Power BI. These visualizations are distributed to executive leadership and external partners to inform decisions and track performance.
Beyond data analysis, the BI Unit conducts business process reviews to identify operational efficiencies across the department. This includes site visits, employee interviews, and process mapping to develop recommendations that improve workflow and support staffing decisions.
The BI Unit also leads the implementation of new technologies, participating in every phase from procurement and system design to training and deployment. Additionally, the team responds to Public Records Act requests and other data inquiries on behalf of the department.

EVALUATION PROCESS
Qualified applicants will be placed on a nine (9) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in the supplemental questionnaire.
