Temporary Election Worker Specialist-Lead
The Registrar of Voters Office conducts elections for San Diego County. Major elections for President, State Offices, School Boards, Special Districts, and Cities are held in even years. Some special elections are held in odd years.
Primary responsibilities are to prepare and maintain a detailed Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping system using ArcGIS PRO and an election data management system for voter record maintenance, parcel/street address research, and other electoral purposes; and perform related work. Answering/transferring phone calls, researching voter registration, and customer service. In addition, will assist with various clerical duties as needed.

Schedule:
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday - Friday
- May include weekends and extended hours
General Skills/ Abilities:
- Researches, compiles, and reviews street address documents, zip code changes, new subdivisions, and assessor parcel data by using in-house data and information from outside agencies (utility companies, directories, post offices, county/city planning departments)
- Computer skills in Windows environment
- Reviewing and proofing precinct realignments, district updates and street updates using ArcGIS PRO
- Telephone/Customer Service Skills
- Work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to handle difficult customers
- Attention to detail
- Perform repetitive tasks
- Maintain excellent rapport with co-workers, other County employees, and candidates, representatives of outside agencies and members of the public
- Basic use of office equipment
- Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
Task Specific Skill/ Abilities
- Familiarity with GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro
- Ability to read, interpret various maps, spatial data, and attribute tables
- Experience with spatial data formats (shapefiles, geodatabases, raster data)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to sort alphabetically and numerically
- Ability to learn new tools and follow established workflows

Essential Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to perform repetitive movements

- Must represent the Registrar of Voters in a professional/non-partisan manner
