Job Purpose and Objectives:
Responsible for processing vehicle registration and renewals for Montgomery County.

2. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs
3. Ability to receive cash payments, count change back to customers, and balance daily cash drawer

Job Competencies: Essential Functions include the following. - Manages customer accounts and updates information as needed
- Processes various registration transactions daily, including titles, permits, registrations, and license plates
- Assists customers with obtaining insurance identification from insurance companies as needed
- Processes web renewals
- Scans all necessary documents to finalize all transactions
- Processes lien and security interest releases and adds them for financial institutions
- Reissues lost or stolen license plates
- Processes new or renewal disabled place cards
- Collects all motor vehicle and recreational vehicle taxes for the county
- Processes antique tax payments received at the counter and the mail, then faxes statements to the satellite office upon request
- Answers phones when not assisting customers
- Responds to calls and messages for property tax estimates and sales tax on new purchases for tag and title registrations
- Corresponds by phone or letter with customers for additional payment for interest due, checks written out incorrectly, or anything that is preventing their payment from being processed
- Mail receipts for transactions received in the daily mail
- Responsible for balancing the cash drawer daily
- Retains a record of returned license plates and prepares plates for shipping
- Processes replacement title applications
- Enforces and maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances
- Attends conferences, meetings, and conference calls to learn new methods, rules, and laws
- Performs other duties as assigned or deemed necessary
- Complies with all organizational and departmental policies and procedures
- Operates all job-related equipment, machinery, tools, and other aids as required or needed
- Protects and maintains any confidential information you have access to, whether oral, written, or electronic
