What are the responsibilities and job description for the Criminal Intelligence Analyst Trainee position at County of Monmouth?
Under close supervision, as a trainee and productive worker assigned to a program or operational unit in a law enforcement agency, learns to research, analyze, and evaluate information and/or data for the purpose of preventing or investigating crime, terrorism, and other threats to public safety; assists in preparing detailed reports, charts, and analysis for further investigation; does other related duties as required.
Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by twenty-one (21) semester hour credits in any combination of the following subject areas: criminal justice, criminology, intelligence studies, computer science, data science, political science, homeland or national security, emergency management, mathematics, or statistics. Master's degree preferred, crime analytics and intelligence experience preferred, FAA part 107 preferred, drone flying experience preferred.
Knowledge and Abilities:
-Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively.
-Ability to assist patrol and specialized units with real-time intelligence support on all emergency or critical incident calls when there is actionable intelligence information that can be obtained through law enforcement databases, social network sites, open-source sites, and other databases.
-Ability to be responsible for the intake, research, and assignment of all citizen tips.
-Ability to monitor open-source reporting and social network sites for any potential criminal activity or other related issues to the County of Monmouth, special events, critical incidents.
-Ability to establish and maintain good working relations with other agencies and the public.
