The Merrimack County Department of Corrections serves the community and its criminal justice system by providing security, supervision, and assistance to persons remanded to our custody. Our policy is to meet or exceed the standards set by the American Correctional Association, the National Commission of Correctional Healthcare, the New Hampshire Association of Counties, and the Merrimack County Board of Commissioners.
Our Community Corrections Coordinator assists in facility operations as well as overseeing the on-going development and operation of community-based programs that include educational/rehabilitative programs; inmate work/release programs (including community work details; inmate work release; electronic monitoring; home confinement; day reporting and re-entry) and the Hero Pups program.

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with major coursework in criminal justice, law, social services, psychology, sociology, business or related field and five years Correctional Officer experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledges, skills and abilities.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS: Certification or ability to obtain certification as a Certified Correctional Officer by the New Hampshire Association of Counties. Must possess a valid New Hampshire driver's license or other state if residence is outside of NH.
A criminal background check will be required of all conditional hires.
Salary : $30 - $43
