The Merrimack County Department of Corrections serves the community and its criminal justice system by providing security, supervision, and assistance to persons remanded to our custody. Our policy is to meet or exceed the standards set by the American Correctional Association, the National Commission of Correctional Healthcare, the New Hampshire Association of Counties, and the Merrimack County Board of Commissioners.
The Assistant Superintendent will assist the Corrections Superintendent in the management and daily operations of the institution through the implementation and coordination of all policies and procedures. The Merrimack County Department of Corrections is a 315-bed correctional facility located in Boscawen, New Hampshire. The building has 7 housing units; reception, work release, minimum, general, female, maximum and medical classifications and is designed to support objective based classification and direct supervision management concepts along with a Community Corrections Center. The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership abilities and experience and a commitment to this operational philosophy.

Possession of a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) from an accredited college or university with major course work in criminal justice, law, social services, business, or a related field.Seven years of correctional experience or criminal justice with five years of progressive managerial/administrative experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Salary : $102,211 - $148,221
