Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, provide clinical assessments of patients' mental status and provide for proper referrals for treatment; perform quality assurance duties and assure compliance with licensure standards established by the state and federal guidelines.
Psychiatric Nurse II is the advanced level in this classification series. Incumbents operate with a high degree of independence. Psychiatric Nurse I incumbents work under close supervision.
Any combination equivalent to: license by the State of California as a Registered Nurse and three years psychiatric nursing experience.
Valid California driver's license; license by the State of California as a Registered Nurse.
A valid driver’s license may be required at the time of appointment and employees may also be required to drive their own vehicle and provide proof of liability insurance as per Vehicle Code VC
