Greenville County Parks, Recreation, & Tourism is seeking dedicated, capable, and hard-working individuals to join our dynamic and award-winning team as an Administrative Specialist II. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about providing exceptional customer service to our park visitors and program participants.
Job duties to include:
Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations within designated timeframes and per established procedures; receives, reviews, records, types, and/or distributes documentation; enters data into computer systems; logs, tracks, or maintains records regarding department activities; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; and files, maintains, and stores hardcopy records.
Performs customer service functions: provides routine information and assistance regarding department/division services, activities, procedures, fees, or other issues; distributes forms/documentation as requested; responds to routine questions or complaints; researches problems/complaints; and initiates problem resolution.
Performs data entry functions by keying data into computer system; enters, retrieves, reviews or modifies data in computer database; scans documents into computer; verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections; indexes documents; and maintains databases and computerized reports.
Processes documentation pertaining to budget or general financial management: prepares and processes purchase requisitions and purchase orders; enters budget data into computer; assists with budget preparation; enters daily revenue into computer and generates revenue reports; monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budget; reconciles payable records with Finance Department records; prepares bank deposits; monitors account balances; and maintains departmental petty cash funds.
Receives moneys in payment of various fees/services; records transactions and issues receipts; balances cash drawer; and forwards revenues as appropriate. Processes incoming/outgoing mail: sorts, organizes, opens, and/or distributes incoming mail; signs for
incoming mail/packages and delivers to appropriate personnel; processes outgoing mail through postage machine; and processes bulk mailing projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; supplemented by two years of experience in customer service, administrative/clerical support, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
