The Fresno County Department of Public Health invites applications for the position of Physical Therapist I/II/III. Incumbents are responsible for planning and performing physical therapy for neurologically and physically impaired clients at California Children's Services Medical Therapy Unit sites, which are located in local public schools. Incumbents are primarily responsible for providing rehabilitative therapy to clients who are physical or neurologically disabled by illness, injury, or genetic impairment. Incumbents may assist clients by developing or improving physical skills; restoring muscle function; maintaining maximum performance within the client's capabilities; and improving the level of self-care and productivity.

Minimum Qualifications
Physical Therapist I
License: Possession of a valid license as a Physical Therapist issued by the State of California, Department of Consumer Affairs, Physical Therapy Board of California.
Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent.
Physical Therapist II
Experience: One (1) year of full-time, paid work experience as a Licensed Physical Therapist.
License: Possession of a valid license as a Physical Therapist issued by the State of California, Department of Consumer Affairs, Physical Therapy Board of California.
Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent.
Physical Therapist III
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time, paid work experience as a Licensed Physical Therapist.
License: Possession of a valid license as a Physical Therapist issued by the State of California, Department of Consumer Affairs, Physical Therapy Board of California.
Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent.

Positions in this classification are in Medical Group III - Heavy Physical Activity (Personnel Rule 8). This group includes positions which require heavy physical effort using arms, legs, back and trunk in frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling objects weighing (or offering resistance equivalent to) over 25 pounds. Generally, considerable bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, as well as standing and walking are involved. Physical stamina is usually required and explosive strength using bursts of energy may be required, depending upon specific position assignments.

- Tentative Initial Interview Dates: MAY 6 and 8, 2026
- Subsequent interviews will be conducted approximately two weeks following candidate certification to the hiring department.
