Job Overview
The Cape Girardeau County Archive Center is seeking a motivated individual to serve as the Archives Assistant. The Archives Assistant provides customer service and reference services to the public and county department staff, supports and performs special archival projects, and performs other assigned duties.
Full-time hourly position; fully on-site – no remote work available.
Essential Position Duties & Responsibilities:
· Coordinate and facilitate archives access requests by staff, researchers, research associates, and the public, as well as respond to archives information inquiries and requests via in-person, e-mail, and mail.
· Maintain inventory records stored in Archive Center
· Speak to different organizations regarding the purpose of the Archive Center
· Preserve documents (cleaning, unfolding, removing hardware)
· Conservation of records
· Work with local records personnel from the Missouri Secretary of State Office
· Create databases for finding aids of Archive Center materials using Microsoft Programs
· Create and assemble publications

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
