This position reports to the Deputy Director of Emergency Health Services or their designee. It is responsible for coordinating logistics for emergency medical services (EMS) training programs, including scheduling and instructing CPR and First Aid courses for county departments. Responsibilities also include coordinating regional EMS continuing education courses and clinical experiences for trainees, transporting training equipment, and instructing EMS training courses as needed.
Additional duties include assisting the Emergency Health Training Coordinator, recruiting individuals into emergency services through program development and career fair participation, and supporting workforce development initiatives.
This is an Essential Personnel position. Essential employees are required to report to work as scheduled or remain at work during when requested, including during inclement weather when Bucks County offices may be closed. May be required to work non-traditional schedules including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
The position also participates in the department's on-call rotation.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Instruction and Course Delivery
- Instruct CPR/First Aid, Stop the Bleed, EMS certification, and continuing education courses.
- Serve as the Course Coordinator for the Bucks County Emergency Health EMS Training Institute.
- Schedule clinical experience components for all training programs.
- Prepare course evaluations at the conclusion of each EMS program and file them appropriately.
- Conduct student counseling sessions, prepare related documentation, and maintain records.
- Develop and manage training course schedules and logistics.
- Ensure the availability of the required course materials and equipment for each training session.
- Coordinate the transport of training equipment to course locations in collaboration with department staff.
- Maintain, manage, and oversee inventory and maintenance of all training equipment and instructional materials.
- Ensure that all training equipment is functional and properly maintained.
- Prepare test sites for Pennsylvania state EMS psychomotor certification exams.
- Maintain EMS instructor records including teaching hours, lesson types, material reviews, student counseling, and payroll for Bucks County Community College.
- Ensure the training.
- Process student application in the National Registry system.
- Develop and implements recruitment programs to attract new EMS personnel.
- Represent the department at career fairs and public events to promote careers in EMS.
- Create and execute strategies to support and grow the EMS workforce.
- Assist Emergency Health Education Coordinator.
- Assist Department staff.
- Assist Bucks County Emergency Management and special operations as requested.
- Support staffing needs at the Emergency Operations Center as needed.
- May be required to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Weekly on-call rotation.
- Some overnight travel may be required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Deputy Director of Emergency Health Services or designee.

Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Current Pennsylvania and/or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or higher certification in good standing.
- Emergency Medical Services Vehicle Operator (EMSVO) certification required; must maintain.
- Current Bureau of EMS--approved CPR certification.
- Pennsylvania Department of Health--certified EMS Instructor preferred.
- Valid driver's license in good standing; reliable transportation required.
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance -- current within one year prior to application.
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check -- current within one year prior to application.
- FBI Criminal Background Check -- current within one year prior to application.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience as a practicing prehospital provider.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience instructing CPR and EMS courses.
- Experience providing classroom and skills-based instruction to diverse learners.
- Prior experience speaking at public events, career fairs, or community education programs preferred.
- Experience assisting in the implementation and delivery of EMS training programs under the direction of a Training Coordinator or similar role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of computer systems and operations.
- Strong instructional, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students at various levels.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to drive large trucks (non-CDL) and tow trailers (desired but not required).
