• POSITION SUMMARY**:
  
  

Performs standard janitorial duties and routine manual labor tasks in maintaining County properties in attractive, clean and sanitary conditions.

• ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
• Performs germicidal cleaning of General Services and other assigned offices, miscellaneous equipment and office areas.
• Sweeps and mops all floors and stair areas and strips and waxes floors.
• Empties trash baskets and ashtrays and dusts furniture, baseboards, windowsills, etc.
• Washes walls and light fixtures as required.
• Cleans kitchenettes, lavatories, and bathrooms and maintains supplies for them.
• Periodically removes and rehangs curtains and draperies for washing and/or dry cleaning.
• Cleans outside patio and exit areas.
• Employees may be required to perform additional work that follows prescribed or well-established procedures that can be learned within a reasonable time by training on the job. More detailed instructions as to the nature of their duties will be given to employees at the beginning of work.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to read, write, understand, and follow oral and/or written instructions.
• Enhanced cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilization background preferred.
• Ability to operate simple cleaning equipment.
• Ability to get along with various types of people.
• Physical ability to perform required tasks.
