What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy County Treasurer position at County of Adams?
Performs intermediate technical work verifying tax information, mapping addresses, money handling, and financial procedures, preparing reports upon request, assist the public in person, over the phone and electronically, performs the duties of Treasurer in Treasurer’s absence per Wisconsin Statutes, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the County Treasurer.
- Assists the public; provides general information.
- Performs daily money intake, deposits, reports, and balances; enters data into the Skyward program.
- Performs monthly/quarterly reports and balances for County and State.
- Validates tax payments and enters into appropriate software; verifies delinquencies and ensures office policies, procedures, and foreclosure operations are followed.
- Verifies E-return and deeds; reads and interprets legal descriptions/maps; ensure legal descriptions are correct and follow county ordinances and guidelines and enter into appropriate software; ensure office policies, procedures are followed.
- Maps out addresses and determines driveway locations and issues fire numbers.
- Verifies and matches assessor information; create reports requested by assessors.
- Provide accurate information upon request to assessors, realtors, the public, and the state.

High school diploma or GED and considerable experience in handling cash, tax information, mapping, and general accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates/Technical degree preferred. Due to the duties of this position, you must be bondable; meaning you must be able to pass a surety background check and a criminal background check. Valid driver's license in the State of Wisconsin.
