County Hearing and Balance has been a well-respected private practice providing hearing care and related services for over 50 years and we are excited to be seeking a medical office administrator for our Groton location! The office administrator is the welcoming front office individual who sets the tone for our patient’s first contact, either through telephone calls or as they enter the office, and we are passionate about providing positive and supportive patient care.

The candidate should have an outgoing, friendly and professional personality, with a strong sense of patient care. The position will require an organized and detail-oriented individual ready to support a health care team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients warmly, check them in for appointments, and verify personal and insurance information in our office software
  • Prepare all patient charts and ensure all forms and documents are up-to-date and accurate
  • Manage the daily flow of the office to ensure smooth and efficient operations
  • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries with professionalism
  • Process patient referrals which are sent to us by insurance companies or primary care offices
  • Verify insurance benefits via telephone or insurance internet databases
  • Enter charges and payments into our office database and process insurance claims
  • Manage billing to patients or other third parties while maintaining a low accounts receivable list
  • Coordination of care with other offices and professional staff
  • Ensure the office is clean and organized with office supplies stocked as needed.
  • Adhere to privacy laws and confidentiality standards (HIPAA compliance)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous Front Desk experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Professional, friendly and courteous with strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude
  • Proficient in computer use with ability to understand new software quickly
  • Attention to detail and strong multitasking ability; able to prioritize daily tasks
  • Dependable and punctual to office start times, with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Team player with a flexible and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to bend/move to complete daily office tasks (filing) (garbage emptying)

Schedule:

Mondays: 9:00am-1:00pm

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: 8:45am-5:00pm

Thursdays off

Weekends off

Optional opportunities to cover team members on PTO from other office locations as opportunities arise
