Overview
We are seeking an attorney willing to work criminal defense, and/or child protective cases in Maine to start out. You will have the opportunity to grow into different areas of law if you wish. Location can be anywhere in the State of Maine and you set your own hours. Generous bonuses are available as well.
Duties
- Case Preparation: Analyze evidence, review police reports, and identify weaknesses in the prosecution's case.
- Research & Drafting: Write pre-trial motions (e.g., motions to suppress), briefs, and memos under the guidance of senior attorneys.
- Client Communication: Meet with clients, explain the legal process, advise on potential outcomes, and manage expectations.
- Court Appearances: Handle arraignments, status conferences, and preliminary hearings.
- Negotiation & Trial: Conduct both Bench and Jury trials or negotiate plea bargains with prosecutors.
- No prior experience needed. We have a team of experienced attorney's to act as mentors and co-counsel.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the state bar is required.
Pay: From $104,000.00 per year
