Job Summary
This position assists and supports students in the School of Business, Mathematics, Engineering & Technologies (SBMET) to improve retention and completion by helping students develop educational plans and a path to completion. The Part-Time Retention/Completion Specialist (R/CS) works with the SBMET to identify and support students who need assistance. This individual conducts outreach, student follow-up, monitors progress, and reports outcomes. This role uses initiative and independent judgment to perform various functions of the position, including managing communication with students, faculty, advisors, and department chairpersons, and generating reports using Colleague and other CCM software systems. The individual in this role must interact well with faculty, staff, students, and other partners. This is a grant-funded position.
Qualifications - Education
Bachelor Degree preferred; Associate Degree required.
Qualifications - Experience
Minimum of 2 years in Higher Education required.
Qualifications - Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Blackboard Ultra LMS, and software systems used in Higher Education
- Sensitivity in handling confidential information
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage and prioritize
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to manage, prioritize, and work independently
