Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Media Production Assistant to support our video production team through all stages of production. The ideal candidate has working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, strong organizational skills, and the ability to assist with light audiovisual (AV) setup and support. This role is well-suited for someone looking to grow their skills in video production, post-production, and basic AV operations.
Key Responsibilities
Video Production Support
- Assist with pre-production tasks such as organizing assets, preparing equipment, and setting up shoots on campus
- Support and/or lead on-set production, including camera setup, lighting, audio, and general production needs
- Help manage footage, file organization, and backups
- Provide support for TV studio and remote productions and live streams
Post-Production Assistance
- Perform video editing, trimming, and exporting using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.)
- Prepare graphics, titles, and simple motion elements as needed
- Collaborate with editors and producers to meet project deadlines
Light AV Support
- Assist with setup and breakdown of AV equipment (projectors, microphones, speakers, basic lighting) as well as occasional installation projects
- Provide basic troubleshooting during meetings, events, or recordings
- Help maintain and organize AV and production equipment
General Duties
- Maintain organized project files and equipment inventory
- Follow production schedules and workflows
- Perform other production-related tasks as assigned
Work Environment
This position may involve a combination of office work, studio environments, and on-location shoots. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required depending on production schedules.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially Premiere Pro and PhotoShop; After Effects is a plus)
- Basic understanding of video production workflows
- Familiarity with common AV equipment and signal flow
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience assisting on video shoots or live events
- Basic knowledge of cameras, lighting, and audio recording
- Ability to troubleshoot simple technical issues independently
- Interest in growing a career in video production or media
- Associates Degree required, Bachelors preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry light to moderate equipment, up to 30 pounds, and climb ladders up to 14 feet to complete lighting work, routine maintenance, installation, and construction of communications systems and Media Center equipment
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shoots or events
Qualifications - Education
Associates Degree in Communication required, Bachelors preferred.
Qualifications - Experience
Experience conducting video shoots and/or media production at live events. Basic knowledge of cameras, lighting, and audio recording. Ability to troubleshoot simple technical issues independently.
