QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 15 years of age; High School Diploma or current enrollment required
- 1–2 years of experience as a gymnast or instructor preferred
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead engaging gymnastics and ninja skills classes with a focus on safety, fun, and skill-building
- Foster a positive, encouraging atmosphere that builds children's self-esteem
- Bring the YMCA's whole-person mission — healthy mind, body, and spirit — into every session
- Adapt thoughtfully to the changing needs of participants and classroom dynamics
- Apply discipline guidelines in line with our Code of Conduct Policy
- Contribute ideas and help develop new class strategies and programming
- Build strong, professional relationships with parents and fellow staff
- Keep accurate attendance records and maintain a clean, organized gym space
- Honor your scheduled shifts; coordinate substitutes and notify the Gymnastics Director when unavailable
- Complete all required trainings from the Ralph J. Stolle Countryside YMCA and Gymnastics Director
- Support Scholarship Fund Raising efforts as needed
- Identify and promptly report safety concerns to the Gymnastics Director and Risk Management
- Perform other duties as required by business necessity
Qualifications:
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to demonstrate foundational gymnastics and ninja skills
- Dependable with consistent, punctual attendance
- Creative communicator — strong verbal and written skills
- Skilled at supervising students with enthusiasm, control, and a safety-first mindset
- Employees 18 and older must pass a criminal background check
PHYSICAL DEMANDS This role involves active participation in a variety of indoor settings. You may be required to carry, lift, run, climb, kneel, crouch, push, pull, stand, walk, and sit. Noise levels will vary with activity.
