Responsibilities
- Perform grooming tasks including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of pets.
- Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin, providing recommendations for care as needed.
- Ensure a safe and clean grooming environment by maintaining equipment and work areas.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ grooming needs and any health concerns observed during grooming sessions.
- Handle pets gently and confidently to minimize stress during the grooming process.
- Maintain accurate records of services provided to each pet, including any special instructions or requests from owners.
- Provide excellent customer service by building rapport with clients and addressing their concerns promptly.
- Assist in other animal care tasks as needed, including pet sitting or basic veterinary care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in pet grooming or related fields such as veterinary technician or animal handling is preferred.
- Strong skills in dog handling, animal care, and customer service are essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or equipment.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques is a plus but not required.
- A compassionate attitude towards animals with a focus on their well-being.
