Food Preparer Position (Saturdays) – Country Village Meats
Job Description:
The Food Preparer prepares, packages, and labels meat for retail sale and waits on customers at our full-service meat counter. Wraps, labels, and maintain records for customer specific orders. Performs basic daily/weekly cleaning. The successful applicant will have a love of all things meat and be motivated to serve our customers with the highest quality products and services.
Responsibilities include
· Deliver superior customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
· Wrap, weigh, label, and price cuts of meat/seafood.
· Wait on customers at our full-service meat counter.
· Ensure the selling floor is adequately stocked, neat, and accurately priced.
· Maintain appropriate stock rotation.
· Maintain required production logs and temperature logs.
· Perform daily and weekly cleaning duties on various workstations, tools, restroom, retail shopping area, parking lot, offices, etc.
· Other duties as assigned.
Job Skills
· Must have people skills, basic computer skills.
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instructions, company policies and procedures.
· Ability to work with retail math concepts such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages.
Job Type: Part-time
PAY/BENEFITS
· Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Work Environment
· Must have the physical ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time, bend, kneel, climb, balance, and stoop to grasp objects, frequently push and pull up to 100 lbs., frequently lift loads up to 40 lbs.
· Ability to enter coolers and freezers thereby being subjected to and withstanding frequent temperature changes for extended periods of time.
· Must have a reliable source of transportation.

Being a small family-owned business, the work-life balance for our employees is a higher priority than in the corporate grocery world. That is why our shop has more traditional butcher shop business hours of Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00 pm and Saturday 8:00am to 4:00pm. Closed on Sundays. The company owners are in the shop on a regular basis helping with all tasks, as needed. No one in the company is above doing tasks needed to run a successful shop.
